Always free
Every listing is free. No prices, trades, or "just cover shipping." The rule is what makes the whole thing flow.
Community equipment sharing
giveGear is how families inside a youth organization hand down the cleats, pads, and gear they’ve outgrown — without selling, trading, or negotiating. List it, someone who needs it picks it up, done.
No prices, no tips, no suggested donations. The rule is simple on purpose.
Listings stay inside the youth organization that hosts them. No public feed.
No ads, no tracking, no analytics. We ask only for what a handoff needs.
What makes it work
giveGear is built around four non-negotiables. They’re what makes handoffs easy, safe, and free of the friction that kills swap-and-trade platforms.
Every listing is free. No prices, trades, or "just cover shipping." The rule is what makes the whole thing flow.
Listings stay inside the youth organization that hosts them. Parents, coaches, and the board — nobody else.
Gear cycles through the league instead of ending up in a basement or a landfill. One purchase serves many kids.
Age-rated 4+. No payments, no tipping, no public contact exposure. Safe to browse with your kid next to you.
No ad networks, no analytics pipelines, no data brokers. We collect what a handoff needs — nothing else.
giveGear connects two people. It never holds inventory, takes payments, or mediates pickup — that’s between members.
How it works
giveGear deliberately skips the marketplace pattern — no carts, no payouts, no escrow. It’s a bulletin board with a message button, shaped for how families actually hand things off.
A photo, a size, a brief condition note, and how someone can reach you. Posting an item is a minute, not a project.
Items appear in your organization’s feed grouped by sport and size. No endless scroll — just what the league has right now.
Reach out through the contact path the poster chose, meet up at practice or in town, mark it claimed. That’s the whole flow.
What will never change
giveGear is easy to wreck. One "suggested donation" field, one ad slot, one analytics pixel — and suddenly it’s a marketplace again. These rules exist to keep that from happening.
Each of these is load-bearing, not branding. Removing any one of them turns giveGear into a different product — one that already exists in a dozen other forms and doesn’t need to exist again.
No purchases, subscriptions, tips, "suggested donations," or recovered-cost fields. Items are free, full stop.
No barter, no "I’ll swap you my cleats for your bat." Trading turns listings into negotiations and negotiations kill handoffs.
No banner ads, no sponsored listings, no affiliate links. The feed is the feed.
No analytics SDKs, no behavioral profiling, no ad-network integrations. Privacy isn’t a feature we ship — it’s the default.
